As an aside, replacing the intermediate StringBuffer with my
FlushIgnorantWriter also saves a lot of resources. When you use the
StringBuffer, all of those results just sit on the heap until they get
garbage collected. If you use XSLs pretty heavily and/or you get a lot of
requests, I imagine all of those uncollected html result strings would fill
up the heap pretty quickly.
