Just wanted to indicate this report has not been forgotten.  We have agreed
on the following corrective action and I expect to have time to make the change
this weekend:

Change Perl5Util.split() to fully conform with
Perl because that's what it claims to do and Perl5Util is intended to
match Perl's behavior, however inconsistent it may be.
Leave Util.split() alone and document the added differences in
behavior.
