On second thought, the best you could hope for was JCS would supply the
locking mechanisms because it knew of all the applications that need
locking (all the distributed caches).

This still dosn't change the fact that the locking -=HAS=- to be done at
the application scope (as I previously outlined), not the get/put/remove
scope.

And it's still a tough problem to solve because of all the race conditions
that could occur, and would SERIOUSLY degrade performance unless you had a
REALLY fast network.
