Yes, it is.
How do you run your tests?
I use ant with the generic container. It looks something like this:

<containerset timeout="..">	
  <generic server="my.remote.server" port="8081" name=".." todir="..">	
    <startup target="startup"/>
    <shutdown target="shutdown"/>
  </generic>
</containerset>
