Subject [jira] Commented: (BSF-13) BSFManager language registry enhancements
Date Wed, 21 May 2008 07:18:57 GMT

Rony G. Flatscher commented on BSF-13:

Everything +1.

Ad file extension lookup: this would be already present with the BSFManager, cf. the static
method "getLangFromFilename()" <http://wi.wu-wien.ac.at/rgf/rexx/bsf4rexx/current/docs/docs.apache.bsf/org/apache/bsf/BSFManager.html#getLangFromFilename(java.lang.String)>.

(The overview page for the BSF Javdocs would be <http://wi.wu-wien.ac.at/rgf/rexx/bsf4rexx/current/docs/docs.apache.bsf/>
in the above URL. Always meant to add them to the Apache BSF homepage.)

> BSFManager language registry enhancements
> -----------------------------------------
> Key: BSF-13
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BSF-13
> Project: BSF
> Issue Type: New Feature
> Affects Versions: BSF-2.4
> Reporter: Sebb
> Priority: Minor
> BSFManager could give access to the registered languages, perhaps via an unmodifiable
> It might also be useful to optionally check if the relevant classes are present (without
loading them).
> This could be used for GUIs that want to display a list of available languages.
> It would probably also be useful to be able to look up the file extensions associated
with a language; GUIs could make use of this.
> [I can probably provide a patch against 2.4 later this week]
