Yes it is some what dormant. We are fixing bugs at present, with the thought 
to release a bug fix release.
Some initial annotation support has been played with, but nothing to be 
released. There is no plan to do so
until a bug fix release goes.

If you have an immediate need, try asm   http://asm.objectweb.org
