Subject utility of defining properties as protected
Date Wed, 06 Oct 2010 20:41:14 GMT
I'm having a hard time understanding the utility of defining a property
as protected. If it's protected then the only way to get a value set is
to also specify autocreated and a default but that doesn't work for
setting dynamic values since if it's protected I can't reset the value -
even prior to the first save.

Is protected only useful for built-in types where the implementation has
total control during node creation?

Thanks -
