See http://wiki.apache.org/jackrabbit/Clustering for a description of
the clustering feature in Jackrabbit.

We basically rely on the underlying persistence manager to be
clustered, which is why you can't find any place in our code where
other cluster nodes try to persist changes saved on another node.
