Thanks, that does it.
I thought/think '.' should be synonynous to '@*, at least in jackrabbit.


But it still does just a exact match;
Any tips for searching with wildcards?
like:

     //users/*/*/*/masterdata[jcr:like(@*,'Mich%')]


I already have tried

     //users/*/*/*/masterdata[jcr:contains(.,'Mich')]
     //users/*/*/*/masterdata[jcr:contains(.,'Mich%')]
     //users/*/*/*/masterdata[jcr:like(.,'Mich%')]
     //users/*/*/*/masterdata[jcr:like(@*,'Mich%')]

but nothing helps, no results ...
