I can't remember exactly, I think it was because the query run times can go pretty high and
some outlier could blowup the entire stats sequence.

But looking at the code, it seems that the averages are not affected by this flag at all,
they just compute dynamic values out of 2 stats [0], whereas the TimeSeriesRecorder handles
the resets on the normal (count & duration) stats.
