Subject [jira] [Created] (JCR-3638) Search indexing takes longer time
Date Wed, 07 Aug 2013 10:38:50 GMT
Nilay Parmar created JCR-3638:
---------------------------------

Summary: Search indexing takes longer time
                 Key: JCR-3638
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JCR-3638
             Project: Jackrabbit Content Repository
          Issue Type: Wish
          Components: indexing
    Affects Versions: 2.6
         Environment: windows server 2003, java 1.7 64bit
            Reporter: Nilay Parmar

We have 700GB of datastore in production. we have upgraded jackrabbit from 2.2.7 to 2.6.0.
though there is a backward compatibility as far as indexes are concerned, we want to re-build
the indexes from scratch. because we were not indexing XLSX type of documents previously but
now we will going to support that in 2.6.0. as datastore size if large, index creation process
was not completed in 36Hrs of time. is there any way, we can increase the speed of indexing
process or create the indexes in chunks?
