Subject [jira] [Created] (JCR-3423) SQL2 Query Runs Slower Than XPath/SQL1
Date Tue, 11 Sep 2012 03:20:07 GMT
Zacchaeus Sim created JCR-3423:
----------------------------------

Summary: SQL2 Query Runs Slower Than XPath/SQL1
                 Key: JCR-3423
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JCR-3423
             Project: Jackrabbit Content Repository
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: jackrabbit-core, query
    Affects Versions: 2.3
            Reporter: Zacchaeus Sim

Query using XPATH query:
/jcr:root/content//*[@sling:resourceType='foundation/components/text']
This will take around 2-10ms if you execute it several times.

Do the same with a SQL2 query:
SELECT * FROM [nt:unstructured] AS ref WHERE ISDESCENDANTNODE([/content]) AND CONTAINS(ref.[sling:resourceType],'foundation/components/text')
This will take around 25-35ms if you execute it several times.

This is just one use case where XPATH query is much faster.
