Have you:

- read http://wiki.apache.org/jackrabbit/PersistenceManagerFAQ#Bundle_File-System_PM ?
- tried the FileDataStore?
- using a hierarchy and not a flat structure? (i.e. not put all 75000 nodes under one common
parent)
