hi jeff,

i just applied the patch a realized that the utility has an adobe license header and adobe
package names. that's obviously not
optimal for apache jackrabbit. furthermore the utility methods throw SlingException... there
is however not dependency to sling
in jackrabbit. finally the methods implicitly call sesssion.save... while that's useful in
certain cases it isn't when it comes to
request processing that should be atomic. in order to cover the latter i would suggest that
the method should have an autosave
flag (or something similar).
would it be possible for you to revise the patch and maybe create it against the jackrabbit
code base? thanks a lot!
