Subject [jira] [Commented] (JCR-3320) User#isAdmin and UserManager#isAdmin only check user name to be equals to admin
Date Tue, 22 May 2012 20:23:42 GMT

angela commented on JCR-3320:

well... there seems to be a little bit of confusion in this issue:

- the administrator group doesn't exist in jackrabbit by default
- the administrator group we are having in CRX is just a regular group... no special treatment
- access control as defined by jsr 283 is granted (or denied) for principals and not for users.
the shortcut in the current ac-eval implementation is not based on User#isAdmin but on a
specific principal.
- the fact that in the default setup principals are associated with users present in the system
is just one possibility.

> Key: JCR-3320

> Project: Jackrabbit Content Repository
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: jackrabbit-core

> Priority: Minor
> When trying to validate administrative privileges of a JCR Session for a user belonging
to an "administartors" group I realized the check is done only for the user name/id.
> I think it'd be good to :
> a) ok solution : check for membership to "administrators" group
> b) better solution : use some smarter (rule based?) control
