if it were possible to use use e.g. the prefix 'xml' in a jcr name (i.e. name of node/property/node
type), it wouldn't be possible to export that content in xml format as the resulting xml would
be illegal.

Here is an overview of the issue:
        Key: JCR-7
Summary: Namespaces XML and XMLNS are reserved and cannot be registered
       Type: Bug

     Status: Closed
   Priority: Minor
 Resolution: INVALID

    Project: Jackrabbit

   Assignee: Stefan Guggisberg
   Reporter: Tobias Strasser

    Created: Thu, 14 Oct 2004 1:41 AM
    Updated: Fri, 15 Oct 2004 3:32 AM

The namespace prefixes XML and XMLNS are reserved but not registered internally. Thus no names
can be generated having those prefixes.
