Zhankun Tang created INFRA-19085:
------------------------------------

Summary: How can I delete existing master branch and rename branch trunk to master?
                 Key: INFRA-19085
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-19085
             Project: Infrastructure
          Issue Type: Wish
          Components: Github
            Reporter: Zhankun Tang

Hi,
We created an empty repo "https://github.com/apache/hadoop-submarine". Initially, it's an
empty repo, we want to move our code with original commits to this new repo.
But accidentally, I pushed a file to the master branch. And now push entire code to the remote
is forbidden. I can only push to a new branch called "trunk".

My question is do we have a way to delete the current master branch and rename "trunk" to
"master"?

Thanks a lot.
