Subject [jira] [Commented] (INFRA-18530) Loading Gradle from Internet
Date Sun, 02 Jun 2019 10:36:00 GMT

Jacques Le Roux commented on INFRA-18530:

I forgot that we have Gradle installed in /usr/lib/gradle/ on "lares_ubuntu" , "orcus_ubuntu"
, "silvanus_ubuntu" as says INFRA-13202. Actually It's about Gradle to 3.2.1, I guess it's
the same for Gradle 5.0.

Anyway, I had another even simpler idea. Why bother Infra? We can simply copy the gradle/wrapper
directory in tools/buildbot/gradle/wrapper ( and
in Buildbot copy it back to its place (the place where it is now but will be removed with
 OFBIZ-10145, et voilĂ .

In a "normal" environment once done it's OK. Gradle is loaded and the Wrapper is aware, nothing
more needed. But on Buildbot 2 questions arises
> # Can we download from Internet using grep?
> # If yes, since the environment is new at each build, can we prevent the Gradle download
and use some kind of cache or alike to reuse the downloaded Gradle version somehow? Then we
would just have to create the Wrapper with each build and copy it where it fits. We would
have to handle the versions changes of course, but that's rare.
