Subject [jira] [Commented] (INFRA-17719) Need check to detect when crontabs stop running
Date Fri, 25 Jan 2019 02:24:00 GMT

Chris Lambertus commented on INFRA-17719:

This was an incredibly unusual circumstance, and we're unlikely to build a monitoring framework
around cron on minotaur seeing as it's on the short list to decom. I'm putting this into planned
work for now until we have a better handle on what still needs to be done before we turn it

> It looks like the minotaur crontabs have not been running for a few days.
> Some of these run vital services (e.g. setting up new mail archives) so there should
be a check to ensure that the jobs are running.
> If there is a log file that is updated when cronjobs are run, then its date could be
checked. There are no doubt other ways of checking.
