Subject [jira] [Resolved] (INFRA-17173) Install slack auto-inviter for the-asf slack (make the-asf slack more public)
Date Fri, 11 Jan 2019 16:06:00 GMT

Chris Thistlethwaite resolved INFRA-17173.
    Resolution: Fixed

We're currently going with only invites for the moment. You can however invite
people to a channel from outside the org, you just need to send the invite via email. I'm
going to close this out for now as the auto invites are a nice to have and further discussion
on how we want Slack to work are needed.

no easy way to join to this one.

> Hi Marton. The slack is open for everyone (users, contributors, committers etc). Many
projects post a link on how join (e.g. Beam at
but I gather those links expire, and it is fairly common people write to user@project asking
for an invitation. It would be good that a Google search for “Apache Slack Join” found
a page that summarised the use of Slack across the projects - I haven’t been able to find
one just now.

system (get an invite with a form like if you think it's useful.
