Subject [jira] [Commented] (INFRA-17119) corrupted mail from github via gitbox relay
Date Wed, 30 Jan 2019 03:02:00 GMT

Chris Lambertus commented on INFRA-17119:

I don't see that we have any way to troubleshoot this in hindsight, so I'm going to close
this as 'won't fix' in the next day or two. There are too many variables, this occurred during
a testing phase of the mailer, and we've never had any reports of it recurring.

> Stumbled across a mangled mail (devnull-return-26373) in mbox-vm mailbox for devnull@infra.
> The mail is also mangled in lists.a.o, so the problem must lie in the mail sent by GitHub
or by the gitbox relay.
> The Permalink version looks OK [1], however the corresponding source display is truncated

> This should have several other lines after it; looks like the non-printable bytes have
cause the source display to be truncated.
> There are several nuls and other non-printable bytes in the mail corresponding to [1],
see the attached extract from mbox-vm.
> It looks like there may be an issue with the Gitbox relaying.
