Subject [jira] [Commented] (INFRA-15928) Check that mboxer correctly archives all mailing lists and aliases
Date Mon, 21 Jan 2019 22:49:00 GMT

Sebb commented on INFRA-15928:

As part of the work, I created an archiver subscription cross-checking tool: (members only)

This shows that all the lists are now being archived to mbox (it was during testing that INFRA-17704
was noted)

[Note that the tool only checks subscriptions; it does not check that all mails are correctly

> As the subject says: there need to be a check that all current mailing lists and aliases
are being correctly archived on mboxer.
> This involves checking that the archives are present in the correct directory structure.
> The information for this check can be derived from bin/.archives.
> There also needs to be a check that no mails are being dropped.
> This is a bit harder to do, as the directory structure on minotaur is different (for
private and restricted mails). Also some month-end mails may be in different mboxes.
> For mailing lists, it may be possible to use the sequence numbers, but mail aliases don't
have these. Hopefully almost all mails have (unique) Message-Ids so it may be possible to
use that plus some fields from the original message if necessary.
