   Hi sebb,
   two comments:
   
   - we only use 2.7 or above, so the naming issue should not affect us
   - please do not use 'from ... import .. when adding new code when possible, instead use
the full name when calling, as it helps see where the call is placed (iow not a locally defined
function)
