Subject [jira] [Assigned] (INFRA-15680) Incorrect/misleading footer on gitbox emails
Date Mon, 18 Jun 2018 19:41:00 GMT

]

Greg Stein reassigned INFRA-15680:
----------------------------------

Assignee: Daniel Gruno (was: Chris Lambertus)

Seems that we should remove the footer altogether, and rely upon ezmlm to add footers, as
appropriate.

> Gitbox mails to commits@infra.apache.org contain the footer:
> --
> To stop receiving notification emails like this one, please contact
> ['"commits@infra.apache.org" <commits@infra.apache.org>'].
> This is incorrect or at best misleading.
> It should say something like
> --
> To stop receiving notification emails like this one, please send an email to
> commits-unsubscribe@infra.apache.org
> Then reply to the confirmation response.
> Or if the intention is to direct users to contact a mailing list, then it should at least
use the reply-to list instead. But it would be better to give the proper instructions. And/or
point to a web page with instructions.
