Subject [jira] [Commented] (INFRA-15947) comments.apache.org is down

Cassandra Targett commented on INFRA-15947:
-------------------------------------------

Is there an updated ETA for the comments system?

As I said earlier, it's not critical for us to use this. If it fits the plans to re-implement
it, then great. If not, then we'll find another solution. But based on the earlier ETA I didn't
fix our Ref Guide pages so we've been doing releases with broken stuff on the pages - if it's
going to be a while yet (or never) we'll want to remove it.

> The Solr Ref Guide uses comments.apache.org to power user comments on pages of Solr documentation.
It had been working fine until around late-December or early-January, and now it returns 503
Service Unavailable errors. I chatted with Chris Lambertus on HipChat, and he thought perhaps
it's being moved.
> If it's being retired we could figure out using another system, but it's highlighted
rather prominently on our pages (see https://lucene.apache.org/solr/guide/7_2/index.html for
an example) so I'd like to know if there's any way to gauge how long the outage will last
so I can either warn users that it will come back eventually or get going with a new implementation
of something else.
