Subject [jira] [Created] (INFRA-16148) Github authorization for Apache Nemo
Date Tue, 06 Mar 2018 12:14:00 GMT
Won Wook SONG created INFRA-16148:
-------------------------------------

Summary: Github authorization for Apache Nemo
                 Key: INFRA-16148
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-16148
             Project: Infrastructure
          Issue Type: Wish
          Components: Github
            Reporter: Won Wook SONG

Hi,

We are trying to do a few things with our GitHub repository which is a mirror of our GitBox
repository, and we are wondering if one of us were to have been given access to the settings
of our project repository to make these changes on our own or if we will have to contact the
infra every time we wish to make a change. These are the examples of what we are trying to
do.

1. We are trying to use a few features that GitHub provides us to protect the master (default)
branch. We want to tick the following options

- Require pull request reviews before merging
  - Dismiss stale pull request approvals when new commits are pushed
- Require status checks to pass before merging
  - Require branches to be up to date before merging

2. We are trying to integrate Github into our slack channel, and it tells us: "You need to
be an organization owner to install the app (or ask one to install it for you)." It seems
that it's possible to do this job also when you are an administrator of the specified repository.
