Sebb commented on INFRA-16119:
------------------------------

Ponymail Permalinks can be affected by the list-id parameter, depending on which generator
is used.

e.g. the medium generator includes the list-id in the hash.
If the list-id is overridden on the command-line (e.g. to import old mails) then the id will
be affected by the list-id that is provided, rather than the original list-id in the mail
itself.

> distributedlog is a sub-project of bookkeeper.
> However the early mails are filed as if distributedlog were a top-level project.
> This is because podlings are filed assuming they will become TLPs.
> There are currently mails in both locations, e.g.
> and
> https://lists.apache.org/list.html?distributedlog-dev@bookkeeper.apache.org:2017-8
> This is somewhat confusing.
> Renaming the early lists will probably break the Permalinks.
