Subject [jira] [Commented] (INFRA-15979) Check that minotaur has complete set of mails for Aug/Sep 2017
Date Sun, 04 Feb 2018 21:59:00 GMT

Sebb commented on INFRA-15979:

The full list of mailing lists that were created in the time period is:

amaterasu-commits - missing 2 commits (see below)
amaterasu-dev - OK
amaterasu-private - OK

bookkeeper-distributedlog-issues - OK

daffodil-commits - OK, see earlier comment
daffodil-dev - recovered, see earlier comment
daffodil-users - OK, see earlier comment
daffodil-private - recovered, see earlier comment

infra-sstest - OK (no messages sent yet)
trafficcontrol-summits - OK, see earlier comment
zeppelin-security - OK, see earlier comment

As to amaterasu-commits, the two missing messages were not caused by the outdated copy of
.archives on minotaur.
They are both very large and caused the minotaur process to fail.
However they are available on mboxer (and hermes if necessary).
This will be done shortly. They were both in Sep 2017 so will need to be merged into the mbox.

> Some mailing lists were temporarily left out of bin/.archives [1] around August 2017.
> This meant that mails were only being archived to the mboxer VM.
> However at that time, the code on mboxer was still being tested (and some bugs were found/fixed)
so it's not possible to assume that all its mailboxes from that time are complete and correct.
That makes merging the archives from minotaur tricky, as some mboxes will need to be overwritten
and some kept or merged. (see INFRA-15929)
> Back-porting any missing mails to minotaur means that there is a single complete copy
of the mails, rather than partial copies on both minotaur and mboxer.
> The task here is to double-check that the record of mails on minotaur is complete for
the mailing lists that were created around this time.
> These include:
> amaterasu
> daffodil
> zeppelin-security
