Reto Gmür commented on INFRA-15950:
-----------------------------------

Sorry Gavin, this answer is absolutely unacceptable. It's the one who runs a server who is
legally and morally responsible for the unsolicited emails, not the provider of the software.
Also it is not my responsibility, even if I should have published my email address in a builds.xml
myself this is in no way an expression of consent to receiving dozens of emails each day.

I'm sure you have slightly less radical options than turning off Jenkins, probably event less
radical than removing it's SMTP settings.

> For several weeks I'm being spammed by Jenkins. I'm getting mails about the kafka build
status (e.g. Build failed in Jenkins: kafka-trunk-jdk7 #3136) at my private email address
me@farewellutopia.com. I can login with jenkins but there I only see my @apache.org email
address.
> Things look very similar as in INFRA-11721.
> Apart from the fact that I don't understand why it suddenly started sending me mails,
I consider sending regular emails (several per days) without an unsubscribe option to be very
rude.
