As noted below, there is a ticket system subscribing users.  We don't think it is harvesting,
just stupidity by freshdesk or a freshdesk customer.  

A number of people have noticed the behavior. 

Can you identify the user with the issue and unsub them?

Hi,

In the users@spamassassin.apache.org list it seems a ticket system is subscribed. This results
in an activation mail to everyone who posts. See attached message.

maybe it could be checked to see if a freshdesk.com message is subscribed directly.

If a user is forwarding to the freshdesk ticket system then i guess it will be harder to track
down, unless you get cooperation of freshdesk.com itself.

Ofcource the freshdesk.com system is at fault because it auto-responds to mailinglists which
it natuarlly should not do. But nothing to do about that.
