I saw your point about documentation, but again: we have no current path to make these edge
cases available to those downstream users. This situation has existed for years, and there
is no expectation that it will cause problems in the future.

If you have thoughts for documentation on www.a.o, then please go ahead. You have commit rights
to create/manage a page that describes the edge cases of our mail archives, that you feel
appropriate to signal to those users.
