Subject [jira] [Commented] (INFRA-12735) [Buildbot] Setup a buildbot job to build the Apache Flex Site
Date Mon, 10 Oct 2016 06:21:20 GMT

Hervé Boutemy commented on INFRA-12735:

ok, sorry, I just got partial view and went in without being really invited: now I understand,
it's the same kind of build job that is done with the CMS (CMS edits, buildbot publishes to
svnpubsub and now gitpubsub)

in that case, previously shown "mvn site-deploy" is only when people want to publish by hand
(that happens even when CI is available), and "mvn site" is when CI does the publication =
what will usually happen once the buildbot job is ready

(maven-scm-publish-plugin does the same job as the script that makes the git commit: the only
difference is that the first one is in a Maven way, the second one is in a sysadmin way)

> Hi,
> I just finished a (hopefully) working version of the Maven Site generation for the Apache
Flex project. I would now like to setup (or have setup) a build job, that:
> 1. Checks out:
> 2. Checksout the "maven-site" branch
> 3. Runs a Maven "mvn clean site-deploy"
> That should update the "asf-site" branch with new content. For now this asf-site should
NOT be used by gitpubsub. We are currently working on migrating content from the Apache CMS
to this new site generation and want so switch some time in the future when all are happy
with the content.
