Subject [jira] [Commented] (INFRA-7524) migrate Apache Subversion project over to the git repo
Date Tue, 01 Apr 2014 23:17:21 GMT

Daniel Shahaf (äñ§€¥£¢) commented on INFRA-7524:

@gstein, couldn't we run 'git fast-export' on a clone of the new Git repo, use esr's or artagnon's
converters to create a dumpstream out of that, and compare _that_ against our repository?
That would reduce us to comparing two svn repositories, which we know how to automate. (Just
diffing dumps should do the trick. Revision files are also deterministic nowadays, but we
can't rely on that since the "known-good" repository wouldn't be have been using a 1.9 server
since its inception.)

P.S. Yes, I realise how odd it would be to rely on FS backend internals for debugging the
git transition... but hey, if it so happens that 'svnadmin dump' is the best way to make 'git
fast-import' verifiable, then let's do it that way! :)

mirror (along with the copy over to GitHub). Will the git repo be at (is
it *still* considered -wip "work in progress"?)

Please let me know.
