Subject [jira] [Commented] (INFRA-7524) migrate Apache Subversion project over to the git repo
Date Tue, 01 Apr 2014 14:55:16 GMT

Jim Jagielski commented on INFRA-7524:

If subversion is like all other ASF projects, then the dev@ list contains a LOT of people
that just the committers and/or PMC members. Recall that we have stated, over and over again,
that ALL development is done in the open, on the dev@ list. That's because we want to engage
the entire community, which is expected to be following the dev@ list.

By handling this on private@ you have basically disenfranchised everyone on dev@ who isn't
on private@, which, I'm sure, is a pretty significant number of people.

I don;t share your "confidence" regarding people having a chance to weigh in. And now the
decision has been made *for* them. !Good.

it *still* considered -wip "work in progress"?)

Please let me know.
