Since when is sending a HTML email an indicator for Spam?
There are email clients where you can not even prevent it from sending HTML mails.

I can also see a significant drop of emails that reach us through our mailing list. Spam filter
based on HTML mails is too restrictive from my point of view, it qualifies valid emails as
