Hoss Man commented on INFRA-2567:
---------------------------------

I'm not sure if there is any precedence for merging lists, but in just in case it's not something
that would normally be done:

* it would be good to have both solr-dev@lucene and java-dev@lucene become aliases for lucene-solr-dev@lucene
(so people who are slow to update their address books can still get mail through).

* doing the same for the "help" addresses of both lists might also be a good idea

* prior to the actual cut over, sending one last "THIS LIST HAS BEEN MERGED..." message to
the two old lists would be handy, both so people know exactly when the cutover talks place,
and so people looking at messages in auto generated archives have a clear indicator of why
there are no more messages after that (and where to go to look for the newer ones)

> Per the merge of Lucene and Solr development under the Lucene mailing list, please merge
the java-dev@lucene.a.o and solr-dev@lucene.a.o mailing lists into a single mailing list named
lucene-solr-dev@lucene.a.o. Please take all existing subscriptions from each list and add
them to the new list.
