Subject [jira] Created: (YOKO-337) Incorrect alignment skipping at the end of a request buffer.
Date Tue, 10 Apr 2007 18:21:32 GMT
Incorrect alignment skipping at the end of a request buffer.
------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: YOKO-337
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/YOKO-337
             Project: Yoko - CORBA Server
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: orb core
    Affects Versions: v1.0.0
            Reporter: Rick McGuire
         Assigned To: Rick McGuire
             Fix For: v1.0.0

The GIOP code uses a test of size_ + 12 to determine if it needs to adjust the alignment for
an incoming message before going to the body. The correct test value should just be size_.
This causes the alignment code to always get called, which will cause an error if the sending
ORB has not padded to the request buffer to 8-byte alignment. The glassfish ORB appears to
be such an animal.
