Subject [jira] [Commented] (S4-15) Picking a communication protocol

Karthik Kambatla commented on S4-15:
------------------------------------

How about having only the protocol interface and doing away with the emitter
and listener interfaces completely. Protocol itself would have send() and
recv() wrappers. Each protocol we implement will hold references to the
appropriate emitter/listener implementations.

> Currently, the application (the associated module) require binding both the emitter and
listener classes. Such an approach allows improper selections - e.g. UDPEmitter for Emitter
and NettyListener for Listener.
> Instead, one should pick a communication protocol, the appropriate Emitter and Listener
classes should be automatically picked.
