       Body:
Agreed. I've done some analysis of the code and it appears as though gui should split out
very nicely (nothing depends on it as I would expect). The remote packaging may be a little
more difficult and will require some small design changes (due to tight integration with the
core), but looks very doable.

At this point I think I'd suggest the following codebase structure:

1) Core Subproject; Built into and distributed as: ftpserver-x.x.x.jar

/core
/core/src/java --> All Java Source for the core ftp server
/core/src/conf --> All Config Files for the core ftp server
/core/src/test --> All JUnits for the core ftp server

2) Remote Subproject; Built into and distributed as: ftpserver-remote-x.x.x.jar

/remote
/remote/src/java --> All Java Source for the remote interface
/remote/src/conf --> All Config Files for the remote interface
/remote/src/test --> All JUnits for the remote interface

3) Gui Subproject; Built into and distributed as:
ftpserver-gui-x.x.x.jar

/gui
/gui/src/java --> All Java Source for the gui
/gui/src/conf --> All Config Files for the gui
/gui/src/test --> All JUnits for the gui

I have split out the gui and have things building in maven. If there seems to be consensus
I can work on the remote refactoring as well.

Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
        Key: FTPSERVER-3
    Summary: Split sub-projects folders
       Type: Wish

     Status: Unassigned
   Priority: Major

    Project: Apache FtpServer

   Assignee:
   Reporter: Sergey M Vladimirov

    Created: Thu, 5 Aug 2004 11:43 PM
    Updated: Tue, 10 Aug 2004 5:58 AM
Environment: Eclipse

Description:
It will be good for developing and using of FTP Server to split parts of project in differents
folders. For example, core may be in /core/src/java, graphics interface - /gui/src/java and
e.t.c.

My application don't need any gui (and more - SITE feature not needed). So I need ability
to split such subprojects and use only FTP Server.
