Of course. This is a simple calculator with no built-in artificial 
intelligence. Information on the web-page is made up for human readers.

This tries to handle both cases, ignoring the second day, assuming 
2-digit month and 2-digit day:
=IF(ISNUMBER(A1) ; DATE(B1;MONTH(A1);DAY(A1)) ; 
DATE(B1;VALUE(LEFT(A1;2));VALUE(MID(A1;4;2)))
