I assume you are using this extension:
http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/project/pdfimport

"Oracle PDF Import Extension" is not being maintained by Oracle, so you are
using an extension from December 2009 that won't get any kind of update, nor is
maintained by OpenOffice developers.
