My .csv file contains cells that look like this: -$97.00 and $137.00. The
import process inserts a single quote (') as the first character of such cells,
so they look like this: '-$97.00 and '$137.00. 

If you test the first cell (as in =if(A1>0;... where A1 contains '-$97.00), the
condition evaluates to TRUE even though the value appears to be negative
(unless you look at the cell contents carefully.

This problem would merely be irritating except that Find and Replace will not
find the leading '.
