Subject DO NOT REPLY [Bug 119285] The 3D shape of the vertical scroll looks akward and the vertical edges are irregular(not smooth).

It works as it should. Perhaps you aspect something, this tool is not doing?

A custom shape like this "vertical scroll" is like a sheet of paper with a
painting on it. If you use "convert to 3D" it is extruded. Extruding means,
that the 'paper' is moved perpendicularly to its plane. Then corresponding
corners of the original and the moved painting are connected. It looks like
getting a box, with the 'vertical scroll'-painting on the foreside and on the
backside and the outer contour of the painting as shape of the box.

You might set the 3D-property 'perspective' to 'parallel' and the 3D-property
'rounded edges' to 0% to get a better look. But I doubt, that this kind of
3D-object is what you want to get at all. Please use a forum or the
users-mailing list to discuss it.
