no, adding the English strings in Pootle or the po/sdf files instead is not a
good idea from my perspective. The question is more why not English is used as
default anyway if missing strings are detected. en-US is always present.
but this a different problem and has to be analyzed separately, in some case it
works. But we have many different sources for localized strings ...
