A similar situation is present with vlookup used for text, which I was facing
for years. The appearance depends on the situation :
- If the spreadsheet is opened as the first spreadsheet then the results are
erronous..
- If another (even an empty) spreadsheet is opened and the related spreadsheet
is opened afterwards then the results are correct.
Attached are the screenshots of the two cases and the document created for
test. This behavior is checked on 4 computers, on W2000 and XP SP3.
In some cased when quickstarter was active I was getting correct results. So to
check this quickstarter may need to be closed.
