             Bug #: 118631
        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Incorrect Automatic Language Definition by Keyboard
                    Setting
    Classification: Code
           Product: lingucomponent
           Version: OOo 3.3
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows 7
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P5
         Component: other
        AssignedTo: issues@lingucomponent.openoffice.org
        ReportedBy: gabrielhml@hotmail.com
                CC: ooo-issues@incubator.apache.org

Open Office Writer bluntly ignores the language settings if my keyboard is in a
different language.

In my case: I want to write in Portuguese. The default settings are in
portuguese, and I insistantly change the settings to portuguese. However, my
keyboard is set to English (United States-International) and every time I START
typing, Open Office Writer automatically spell checks the new sentence I am
writing as if it were ENGLISH.

That means that for every new sentence I write: I have to change the default
language to PORTUGUESE!

This is very annoying.

There's an old thread here that describes the same problem:
