             Bug #: 118557
        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: OO calc internal rate of return gives anomalous result
                    (so does Excel)
    Classification: Application
           Product: Spreadsheet
           Version: version58
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows Vista
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P5
         Component: programming
        AssignedTo: spreadsheet@openoffice.org
        ReportedBy: geraldj@tpg.com.au
                CC: ooo-issues@incubator.apache.org

Created attachment 76938
  --> https://issues.apache.org/ooo/attachment.cgi?id=76938
ods file demonstrates the anomaly

in OO calc IRR formula gives decreasing % result for actual increases in income
over the period as shown in attachment.Issue is whether a correct result should
be returned or do what Excel does.
In each case in attachment there is an entry which should not decrease the rate
of return being the sum of discounted cash flows and final return (payout)
compared to the initial (negative) input. What appears to be happening is that
the percentages of the year by year results are being averaged.
