Sounds good for the improvement, and I think, can we combine the 2 feature
proposed, that
1> Add the search field in navigator to search by key word, like described
in Bug 118639, but more is that we can search not only headings, but
inserted objects with name and captions;
2> In navigator, when we select one of the items, we can open context menu,
and select to create cross-reference for the selected item, and then open
the cross-reference dialog to set the properties with the specific items
been selected.
Agree to Oliver that we need some UX effort on the study from UX
perspective, and from a developer view, I think above 2 may be easier to
implement.
