But actually, for this to work, the discussion should be brought to the debian-openoffice@lists.debian.org list, not debian-user@lists.debian.org. Also we need someone understand how to package .deb packages that follow the Debian policy in order to package AOO by the Debian policy. For the long term, we should update our build system so it follows the Filesystem Hierarchy Standard (FHS) and meets the requirements of the distributions. I shall bring this issue to debian-openoffice@lists.debian.org first.= On 2012/03/15 05:30, Rob Weir said: > Note this thread on the Debian user list, with a user who prefers the > AOO 3.4 snapshots over the alternatives and is asking about having a > choice about which one to use in Debian: >=20 > http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2012/03/msg00824.html >=20 > Sure, it is only a small part of our user base, but I think they > should have choice, even on Linux. >=20 > The particulars of his reasons why he prefers AOO are interesting, but > the main message is that we need to be out the watch for some > experienced package maintainers. >=20 > -Rob --=20 Best regards, imacat ^_*' PGP Key http://www.imacat.idv.tw/me/pgpkey.asc <> News: http://www.wov.idv.tw/ Tavern IMACAT's http://www.imacat.idv.tw/ Woman in FOSS in Taiwan http://wofoss.blogspot.com/ Apache OpenOffice http://www.openoffice.org/ EducOO/OOo4Kids Taiwan http://www.educoo.tw/ --------------enig5378B88ED79B1D22A3DE188A Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: OpenPGP digital signature Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAk9hKngACgkQi9gubzC5S1z5rQCgoSu+AdWTtDsXn/9QvV2tq2R2 SeYAnjIoRrB6Aa6EPW15A2a3ouURmYP7 =T2TF -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --------------enig5378B88ED79B1D22A3DE188A--
