The first version of the integration of library serf (incl. apr and apr-util) as 
a replacement for removed library neon has just been commited - see rev. 1292794

Feel free to check this out and report errors.

As previously mentioned some further integration work will follow - mainly stuff 
regarding SSL certification handling and user error messages.
